Mark is an honours student at the University of Melbourne who has a range of experience in the youth and multicultural sectors. Mark provides skilled research and data analysis support to Lirata across many consulting projects. He is particularly passionate about programs that support and empower young people of colour.
Prior to Lirata, Mark worked as the People of Colour office bearer in the University of Melbourne Student Union, serving a one-year term as a student representative. There, he engaged with campus organisations, advocated concerns to faculty and led collaborations including a PoC Mental Health Week. His responsibilities also included communications, budgeting, administration, design and community organising.
Mark has also worked with Youth Affairs Council Victoria on projects involving youth consultation.
Mark has also volunteered with the YMCA Youth Parliament Press Gallery, contributed to a community project with the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health, and undertaken a work experience placement in the Darebin Community Legal Centre.
Mark’s academic background involves a double major in Criminology and Economics with a First Class Honours average. He is familiar with the statistical packages R and SPSS, and is also a graphic designer with experience using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
