Lachlan is an experienced administrator and program manager who was worked across a range of not-for-profit organisations. Lachlan is focused on using his skills to empower young people and achieve positive social change.

Lachlan has strong experience in community development with Indigenous communities. Prior to joining Lirata, Lachlan worked for over five years as Programs Manager at the Cathy Freeman Foundation. In that role Lachlan managed the implementation of all CFF educational programs in Queensland partner communities and managed the national Horizons Program for four years. Lachlan oversaw the implementation of culturally appropriate education programs in remote Aboriginal communities, including Palm Island and Woorabinda. Lachlan's key responsibilities included team leadership, staffing & HR, budgeting, program implementation, community engagement, stakeholder management and monitoring and evaluation.

Lachlan previously worked as Program Manager Assistant with the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience at Monash University. Lachlan also recently completed a three-year volunteer term as an Assistant Chief Commissioner for Scouts Victoria. In this role Lachlan was responsible for the weekly program delivery to more than 16,000 Victorian Scout members and guiding Victoria's representation in the development of a new youth program for Scouts Australia.

Lachlan has a background in research, receiving First Class Honours for his research project studying the impact of community policing in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro in the lead-up to the 2014 World Cup. Lachlan is returning to university in 2020 to study a Masters in Community Development.

Lachlan is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish is a board member on the Monash University Bachelor of Global Studies industry advisory board. He is also currently the State Leader (Cycling) for Scouts Victoria and a Cub Scout Leader at Fitzroy Scout Group.

Lachlan's qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (Global) with honours, a Certificate IV in Business Management, a Certificate IV in Leadership and a Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
