Our purpose is to advance social justice by strengthening the enablers and reducing the barriers to positive social change.

Our work falls into three main areas: consultancy, capability building, and creative projects.

Lirata Consulting

Our consulting services support organisations and communities to deliver and improve programs and strategies that will make a real difference in promoting social inclusion, health and wellbeing. We work with a wide range of service providers, funders, policy-makers and advocacy organisations.

Our consulting services assist you and your organisation to:

  • Gain a clear understanding of your operating environment and the perspectives of your stakeholders
  • Define your short- and long-term objectives
  • Develop evidence-based policies, programs and strategies to achieve your goals
  • Implement initiatives and manage change
  • Overcome the barriers to achieving positive outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate your progress
  • Make wise decisions, supported by the best available evidence
  • Celebrate your achievements and learn from your mistakes.

To achieve these outcomes, our expert staff will work with you on areas including strategic and operational planning, policy and framework development, organisational review, research, monitoring and evaluation, change management, stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.

Our consultancy services operate on a fee-for-service basis. We offer competitive pricing to keep our services accessible to not-for-profit organisations.

Lirata Capability

Our capability building services strengthen the abilities of individuals and organisations to sustain effective work for positive social change. We support people working at all levels within organisations, from senior leadership to frontline staff, as well as community members working for change. We work at whole-of-organisation and sector levels to develop systems and processes that sustain excellence for the long term.

Our capability building services assist you and your organisation to:

  • Identify the enablers that will improve and sustain your work
  • Build confidence and resilience
  • Access the skills, knowledge, tools and resources you need to be effective
  • Foster strong leadership that provides the focus, discipline and inspiration needed for positive change
  • Develop networks and relationships to increase the base of support for your work
  • Create and improve systems that support effective governance, management and collaboration.

To achieve these outcomes, we provide world-class training, coaching and mentoring. We develop and distribute information resources, work with you on organisational review and development, and help you build robust systems and processes for governance, human resources, safety and quality, risk, compliance and knowledge management. We have specific expertise in quality improvement and accreditation, and in data system development.

While many of our capability services operate on a fee-for-service basis, we are able to offer some free and/or subsidised activities.

Lirata Creative

Lirata Creative undertakes collaborative research and development projects which are focused on:

  • Generating new knowledge to increase the effectiveness of social justice efforts
  • Developing innovative tools, frameworks and approaches for pursuing positive social change.

Our work in this area covers projects as diverse as research on pathways out of homelessness, development of reporting software, and creation of evaluation toolkits for social change campaigns.
