During 2019, we have been fortunate to welcome Kate Randall and Lachlan Preston to Lirata’s core team.

We're glad to have Kate and Lachlan on our team, strengthening our capacity to undertake our social justice work.

In a small organisation, each staff member who joins or leaves the team has a big impact. We acknowledge the hard work and passion of all of our staff and thank them for their amazing contribution.

Kate Randall

In July, Kate joined our team as a Consultant with specialist expertise in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL). With a Master of Business Administration and more than 20 years’ experience working in the social sector, Kate has managed programs and led projects in a diverse range of contexts. Kate enjoys working with people from all walks of life to build a fairer, healthier society.

Kate came to Lirata from National Disability Services (NDS), the peak body for non-government disability service providers. Kate led the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of NDS’ three-year sector development project, which assisted organisations across Victoria to prepare for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and transform their businesses to operate within the new NDIS environment.

Kate has also held program and project management roles with Volunteering Victoria, Independence Australia, the Gardiner Foundation, the Victorian Farmers Federation, and Vision Australia.

Lachlan Preston

Lachlan is the latest addition to our team, having started in our newly created Administration Coordinator role in October 2019. In addition to great admin skills, Lachlan has strong experience working with Indigenous communities. Prior to joining Lirata, Lachlan worked for over five years as Programs Manager at the Cathy Freeman Foundation. In that role he managed the implementation of all CFF educational programs in Queensland partner communities and managed the national Horizons Program for four years.

Lachlan also recently completed a three-year volunteer term as an Assistant Chief Commissioner for Scouts Victoria.

Lachlan is focused on using his skills to empower young people and achieve positive social change. He is returning to study a master’s degree in 2020 and we are glad to have him working with us alongside his studies.
