Lirata is delighted to announce the appointment of three new Directors.

After a successful recruitment process, Dr. Dharshika Sabanathan, Jessica Williamson and Justin Welfare joined Lirata's Board in November 2020.

Dharsh, Jessica and Justin each bring unique perspectives and great professional skills and experience. They join our existing Directors Celia Clapp, Mark Planigale and Dr. Tonya Stebbins, to provide an expanded Board that will oversee Lirata's future development and strategic directions.

 

The appointment of our three new Directors is part of an ongoing process of organisational development for Lirata, which includes reviewing and strengthening our governance structures, policies and processes. Read below to learn more about our newest Board members

Dr. Dharshika Sabanathan

Dr. Dharshika Sabanathan is based in Sydney and has a Doctorate in organisational psychology. Dharsh has the role of Executive Manager, Change Enablement at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and is responsible for leading change across major technology transformations at CBA.

Dharsh previously worked in consulting roles with PwC, Macquarie Group and Chandler Macleod Group.

Jessica Williamson

Jessica Williamson is based in Naarm (Melbourne) and is a human rights lawyer. Jessica is the CEO and co-founder of WLW Migration Lawyers, a specialist law firm which includes a social purpose arm delivering low bono legal services to migrants.

Jessica previously held a variety of roles at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, including Manager and Principal Solicitor for the ASRC's Human Rights Law Program.

Justin Welfare

Justin Welfare is based in Meanjin (Brisbane) and has the role of Program Manager at Quality Innovation Performance Certifications. Justin is a qualified auditor and has worked in a range of roles in health and community services, including within Aboriginal Medical Services and in education.

In addition to his active community work, Justin is an Indigenous dancer and teacher.
